Cyclist receives compensation for injury caused by car accident
A cyclist who was injured in a road traffic accident has been successful in his personal injury compensation claim this month.
It was heard that at the time the accident occurred, the cyclist was approaching a roundabout, travelling in the left hand lane. The cyclist’s path was clear, so he began to make his way around the roundabout, correctly staying in the left hand lane.
A driver of a car, who was travelling in the right hand lane, approached around the roundabout staying in the right hand lane, as if they were going to continue around it. However, the driver of the vehicle made a sudden turn towards the exit and collided with the cyclist.
The cyclist was injured as a result of the road traffic accident and sustained injuries to his foot and back and also suffered bruising to other parts of his body. The road traffic accident also caused damage to the man’s bicycle and a watch that he was wearing that is said to have been quite valuable.
After the road traffic accident occurred, the injured cyclist contacted his legal team and pursued a personal injury compensation claim against the driver of the vehicle. During court proceedings negotiations were made via a third party insurance company to claim for injury and any losses he incurred, such as travel costs and care that was required for his recovery. The injured cyclist received £3,000 in compensation for the injuries he sustained.
